Prosecution and Asset Recovery Phase of the Mission

As the figure shows, the Prosecution and Asset Recovery Phase is supported by one operational function, which is to.

.Conduct trial preparation and asset seizure and develop follow-on cases.

The last phase of a mission, if it was criminal enforcement in nature, involves the prosecution of the suspects. In some instances, the prosecution staff may be very busy addressing other priorities. An agency owes it to their officers to see to it that their agency's hard work does not fall on deaf ears. There will be times that the law enforcement agency's management must go to the prosecution unit and push for the prosecution of a case.

In some cases, there may be assets that can be recovered and used to offset the cost of the mission. In many cases, the assets can be utilized to fund those costly items that an agency is not capable of funding or inclined to fund. Intelligence can assist in the identification of assets, especially the hidden assets. In addition intelligence can provide information relating to the activities of the suspects, since their arrest.
