This figure presents the one operational function that supports the Operational Modifications Phase, which is to.
.Update operations and intelligence planning and execution methods.
During this phase, which may or may not be requested or required, all or part of the operation will be evaluated for effectiveness.
The operations evaluation process asks the following three questions:
- What did we do?
- How well did it work?
- What can we do to make it better next time?
Sometimes we do things very well in law enforcement. However, sometimes we do not effectively address the problem. Therefore the second question, "How well did it work?"
The last question is not designed to be critical of those who developed the plan, but many may see it in that light. For that reason, the evaluation process must be approached very cautiously and with a great amount of tact.
